Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
For me most of the value is at the bottom of this list. Payet has to be the best value, yes i know most of us hate him now but what a player he was when he wanted to be. Haller has to be the biggest waste of money, not only because he has been by the far the most expensive but because of how good he has been at Frankfurt and Ajax before and after leaving us. Ayew at £22m makes me laugh, 9 goals in 43 games. Anyway what do you lot think.

1.Haller £45m
2.Anderson £34m
3.Zouma £31m
4.Vlasic £27m
5.Fornals £25m
6.Diop £22m
7.Ayew £22m
8.Benrahma £21m
9.Arnautovic £20m
10.Bowen £20m
11.Yarmolenko £18m
12.Hernandez £16m
13.Carroll £16m
14.Soucek £15m
15.Payet £14m

I did like Vaz Te.

Russ of the BML Dawson plus I would add Vaz Te cost us £450K and got us back to the Premiership.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Side of Ham I think we had about £9 Million from the Black Cats. Another good bit of business was that we got about £7 Million from Middlesbrough for Ashley Fletcher, cost us sod all and one scored 1 goal for us.

Kieron Dyer. £6 million in 2007. £60k a week. 18 games in 3 years, not completing any of them.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
I was rather pleased we got a good service from Anton and on the back of that we got a very good fee from Sunderland.

I would have Ljungberg in the mix

"Ayew at £22m makes me laugh"

What made me laugh was somehow managing to get £20m from Swansea when we sold him back to them.

I’d say this is clever accounting. Much like Randolph return from Boro.
I’d wager most of these monies haven’t changed hands and players have returned rather than cash.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Don't forget the ones just out side this list like Jordan Hugill cost us £10 Million - pound for pound the worst transfer if you look at the number of minutes he played for us. Also Savio Nsereko, for almost the same fee, now he's playing for an amateur German League team.

Fair enough. Not sure why you added "ever" at the end though, seeing as it means something very different.

That's why I said "in our recent history"

"Ever"?

The GSB era maybe. Nowhere near as good a bargain as the likes of Devonshire, Bonds, Dicks and probably many others.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Personally, I think in our recent history, the £3m we paid for Dawson arguably makes him the best pound for pound signing for us ever.

Nowhere near their fees though for me, Ayew at least I was there when he scored 2 at Wembley. Managed 1 less league goal than Haller and Anderson.

Vlasic needs a run of games for me, he should be pushing Fornals for that LW spot if no one comes in.

I wouldn't be holding your breath for too long, BRANDED.

Moyes has ordered him a taxi that's waiting outside.

Well. He aint left yet so lets hope he proves you wrong.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Most of those in the list you can pick a goal where you think, at the time, it went a way to justify their transfer fee or wages.

We're never going to get that with Vlasic.

Yarm at 100 bags looks pretty bad

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Yeah they did, but nowhere near enough to justify their fee/wage. Vlasic has been awful and you can’t see him improving any time soon. He looks out of his depth, unfortunately.

Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Roberto on a free has to be up there as one of the most costly blunders

All four of us wouldn’t even go to games until Fabianski was back, it was that catastrophic

He’s had 15 clubs, more than Jack fucking Nicklaus the useless fat cunt

Lee Trundle 10:35 Mon Jun 20
Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Both Haller or Anderson did produced something for us at times, even if people don't want to admit it to themselves.

Vlasic is the worst of the lot for me, so far. Contributed sweet FA and should never had been bought when we were desperate for a striker.

Rossal 10:25 Mon Jun 20
Re: Highest transfer fee's paid! good value or not?
Ayew was nowhere near worse value than Haller or Anderson
